A Farm Field Trip Middle Tennessee Schools Book Every Fall
Wednesday through Friday in October, Shuckle’s is closed to the public and open to your group. No crowds, no queues, and a rotation schedule that moves your class from station to station.
We’re at Fiddle Dee Farms in Greenbrier, in Robertson County, about 30 minutes up I-65 from Nashville and roughly 20 from Hendersonville, Goodlettsville and White House. Schools come to us from Robertson, Sumner, Davidson, Montgomery and Cheatham counties every October.
Students learn how corn is grown and what it’s used for, how farm animals are fed and cared for, and the life cycles they pass through. Then they test their sensory and directional skills in the 8-acre corn maze, ride the Hey Hey Hayride and pick a free pumpkin to take home.

It is a working farm in harvest season, so there is real learning in the day, not just a play area with a tractor.
How Corn Is Grown & Used
Students see the crop standing in the field and learn how corn is grown and where it ends up, from food to manufacturing.
Animal Care & Life Cycles
The Animal Corral covers how farm animals are fed and cared for, and the life cycles they pass through across a farm year.
Sensory & Directional Skills
The 8-acre corn maze is a genuine problem-solving exercise. Students read a map, follow clues and make decisions as a group.
Teaching Aides for the Classroom
Ask ahead and we will have teaching aides ready for you, including hard corn on the cob and corn stalks to take back to the classroom.

How To Book a Field Trip
Five steps, and the first one takes about two minutes.

Reserve your date
You must have a reservation to secure a date, and we don’t take weekday drop-ins. Book online or call 615-669-MAZE. October dates go quickly, so earlier is better.

Pay the deposit
A non-refundable deposit holds your date on the calendar. Cancel with at least two weeks’ notice and the deposit is refunded, with no exceptions to that window.

Email your Class Tally Form
Fill in the Class Tally Form at booking and email it to shucklescornmaze@gmail.com. Bring an updated copy on the day. It sets our staffing and makes sure every child gets a hayride.

Send the Payment Form and any exemption
A Payment Form goes with the Class Tally Form, and the totals need to match. If your school is tax exempt, email the Exempt Certificate ahead of the visit or bring it to Admissions at check-in.

Pre-collect and pay in one go
Collect all money before you travel, including for chaperones on the group check. Pay at check-in with one check or one card for the whole group.

The practical answers you need before you can get a trip approved.
When can we come?
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from October 1 to October 31. You can schedule a three-hour block any time between 9:00am and 2:00pm.
How long do groups stay?
Most groups spend about three hours with us. You’re welcome to stay longer, and we’d suggest picking your length based on the age of your group.
Chaperone ratio
One free ticket for every 15 student tickets paid, covering teachers, paid staff chaperones and bus drivers. Adults paying separately are $15 plus tax.
Can we bring lunch?
Yes. Bring a picnic lunch and use the picnic tables, or buy from the snack bar, which is open during field trips.
What isn't open on a field trip?
Anything that runs on Shuckle Bucks is closed during field trips. Everything included in general admission that’s open on the day is yours.
What if the weather turns?
We reserve the right to reschedule a field trip for bad weather. Cancellations from your side need two weeks’ notice for a deposit refund.
Do discount coupons work?
No. Group rates are already discounted, so coupons and other offers don’t stack on top of them.
What about walk-ups on the day?
Anyone not pre-registered with the school pays the group rate plus tax at check-in, and a hayride seat isn’t guaranteed for walk-ups.
Who keeps the group in order?
The group leader is responsible for making sure everyone understands the rules and procedures, and for arriving on time out of courtesy to other booked groups.

Groups that aren’t classrooms book on a different schedule and a different rate. We’re a Christian owned farm and church groups are a big part of our week.

A Group Tally Form and Payment Form are needed at booking, same as school groups. Staffing is lighter midweek, so a few activities may not be open. Tent and fire pit bookings are non-refundable inside two weeks.

How much is a school field trip near Nashville?
